Why We Built LiftCredit
I grew up watching people I love get turned away by banks. My mother needed $800 to cover a car repair that was the difference between keeping her job and losing it. The bank said no. A friend needed $500 for an emergency medical bill — declined because of a credit score he barely understood. These weren't reckless people. They were hardworking, responsible, and just needed a small bridge to get to the other side. The system failed them. That stuck with me.
When I started LiftCredit, I had one goal: build the lender I wish my family had access to. No credit score requirements. No judgment. No surprise fees that bury people deeper. Just a straightforward loan, a flat fee you can see before you sign, and a repayment tied to your actual paycheck. I wanted the experience to feel like borrowing from someone who trusts you — because we do.
Every application that comes through LiftCredit is a person with a real situation, not a data point. We built our scoring model around income and identity — because that's what actually tells us whether someone can repay a small loan. Not decades of credit history. Not a FICO score.
